Startup Summit was originally founded in 2012 by students living in Edinburgh with a mission to create a world-class startup community.
From humble beginnings, Startup Summit has grown from one event in Edinburgh in 2012 to an international festival of entrepreneurship, hosting summits and events in London, Glasgow, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Abu Dhabi.
We started with a mission to bring ‘everything you need to start, grow and thrive in one room’ and as we have evolved, this mission has remained at the heart of what we do. Believing that business is one of the greatest tools to create positive impact, Startup Summit helps founders connect with the tools, resources and community they need to build purpose-driven companies that scale.

In 2021 we hosted our 10th annual Startup Summit! It showed how far Scotland and the wider European startup scene has developed and grown. We celebrated where we’ve been and what the next decade might have in store with some of the most exciting founders, companies and leaders from around the world.
If it takes a village to raise a child, then it takes an ecosystem to raise a startup and we know that Startup Summit is the culmination of a vibrant and energetic community coming together.
